The ultimate Buzzkill Hutch - a drabble

Well, I'm up to my eyeballs in RL stuff,
but couldn't help dribbling out this little pick me up of a drabble. HA!

It's post SR
It's dreadfully desolate if I say so myself
It's gonna make me write more crack

But really, isn't it the most fun EVER to make Hutch suffer????

Pyre

by Kaye

The bonfire lasted until morning. He stood alone, silent sentinel, feeding the fire, fanning the flames, falling deeper into the black pit he’d crawled into after everything stopped. And nothing mattered. The wicker chair, the sailboat, two dozen legs of denim. At first the leather didn’t burn, so he found a long stick and shoved the jacket right into the heart of the flames. It crackled and danced and singed his face, his chest. His eyebrows didn’t have a chance. Finally at dawn, after everything was gone, he pushed the Torino into the heart of the fire and walked away.

Yeah, but do ya gotta kill Starsky ta do it? :D

Srsly, great images in this one!! Crispy fried tomato. Yum.

yes, I thought Hutch could work out his grief and hatred for the car in one big push . . .

[identity profile] dipslikeramon.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. So are you gonna follow that up with something to the effect of "but before he could walk far enough away, the tomato exploded, sending the crankshaft flying out of the fire to glance off his neck, severing his spine but keeping him alive, if totally paralysed, for the rest of his life. Which, by the way, was rilly!rilly!long! And angst filled. And stuff." Cause that'd be fun. :D :D :D

(loves to fuck Hutch up too)

okay that sequel makes me laugh . . . mainly because probably someone has already written something like that . . .

[identity profile] dipslikeramon.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
*snort* If so, I haven't read it, but I bet you're right! *cheesy grin*

Wow. Okay...wow.

[identity profile] peg22.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, I know.

Fits my mood tonight like you don't know how, bachgen. The Torino, the jacket, the denim. Even wubbie's eyebrows..::sigh:: it's all gotta go.

(Hutch giving the Torino a farewell pat in my icon seemed appropriate:))

[identity profile] peg22.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
glad to help the mood (I think ;)) Love the icon.

I think I've got to go somewhere and be very sad now. Or maybe I'll just watch the giggling doped up guys at the end of SR to make it all better. But wow... what you just did with 100 words... wow.

[identity profile] peg22.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks - sometimes I think drabbles are the hardest things to write - and yes, I needed to watch a little first season love after this one!

[identity profile] lolabobs.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
two dozen legs of denim - what a fabulous turn of phrase, and that's all I'm saying - no brownie points for breaking Hutch!! D:

[identity profile] peg22.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I know - my bad . . . thanks for reading. Will have to fix Hutch later . . .

[personal profile] nickygabriel 2008-07-18 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
Why did he walk away? He was a part of Starsky, as well...

[identity profile] peg22.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
True . . . but Hutch all alone may even be sadder than Hutch diving into the pyre. Hutch left to walk the earth . . . shudder.

[personal profile] nickygabriel 2008-07-18 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, in this case maybe he took the most important part of Starsky with, and he is not alone anymore? I would like it this way. :o)

I want more. I want the context around this and the aftermath.

Do you take requests? ;-)

[identity profile] peg22.livejournal.com 2008-07-24 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I want that too - wanna write it? I'll give you a dollar . . .

[identity profile] ancastar.livejournal.com 2008-07-24 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh! A challenge! Maybe I'll take you up on that.

I can always use another dollar. ;-)

he found a long stick and shoved the jacket right into the heart of the flames

O.M.G. OK, so I'm sobbing and cackling at the same time ... is that normal?

[identity profile] peg22.livejournal.com 2008-07-24 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I think its normal and appropriate . . . but what do I know:)
Thanks for reading!
