1 Since you are to be Homeward Bound soon, what is your favourite driving/road trip music?
2 What are you reading right now - fic-wise? Book-wise?
3 Which episode of Dr Who has impressed you the most so far? Why?
4 Which TV shows would older Starsky and Hutch be into?
5 Which would they hate with a passion? 

 

1 Since you are to be Homeward Bound soon, what is your favourite driving/road trip music?

Well, I make mixes for every trip I take. I have some from as far back as 1991 . . . but usually I can listen to Nanci Griffith all across America. Joni Mitchell is good for scenic areas and David Sedaris reading one of his books is the best for long stretches of I80 or I70 - especially across Kansas. Plus, there is always a moment in the roadtrip where I must put in my high school Rock Gods - Journey, REO and Styx.

2 What are you reading right now - fic-wise? Book-wise?

Fic-wise - it's just whatever comes along on LJ. I've been reading a lot of great post season House fic. Bookwise - Carol Shield's Until is what I'm reading right now. And I finished Lullabies for Little Criminals and I always have a Harlan Coben or some other "beach book" ready for an allnighter. I seem to read those at 11pm and don't stop till I'm done. Actually lately, my reading at night has been usurped for re-watching all of Sex and the City DVDs. I LOVE those girls!

3 Which episode of Dr Who has impressed you the most so far? Why?

I love Utopia, where Captain Jack comes back. And the Shakespeare one with Martha Jones where we find out the iambic pentameter is just a homing signal for aliens ( I shoulda known!)  And I cried and cried when the Doctor lost Rose behind the wall . . . I truly love that David Tennant. And his trainers. And I adore Donna - love her Left Turn ep . . . sigh, can't wait for the finale! Am smitten.

4 Which TV shows would older Starsky and Hutch be into?

Starsky would love House and constantly point out how nice Wilson is even when House is an ass and make appropriate parallels and Hutch would get very snarky about it. Hutch would love CSI, mainly to complain about how they NEVER turn on a light anywhere they go. Starsky would also love The Amazing Race and also A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila. Hutch would watch Gordon Ramsey and they would both watch the balcony scenes with Boston Legal.

5 Which would they hate with a passion? 

Law and Order - too much like work. Starsky would HATE Lost and Hutch would really hate Monk. They both hate the blond Nancy Grace, but have little crushes on Anderson Cooper. And Hutch would FORBID Starsky from watching any Flava Flav!!!!!!!!

I love that you love Sedaris. I love him too! I'm bummed that I loaned all my Sedaris books to one of my students and then never saw them again.

YOu know, as I was writing the last question, I was wondering if you were going to say Law and Order, since that was what sprung to mind for me too! I have a feeling Starsky would secretly become addicted to something like Brothers and Sisters.
