So I did this on facebook and Hutch told me to post it here . . . I do what she says . . .
1. I remember my favorite shirt from 2nd grade and still want one. David Cassidy wore one just like it in the Partridge Family.
2. I dreamed last night I tried to stop Brad Pitt from getting stabbed but I failed and then lied to Angelina Jolie about it . . .
3. I believe Amy's kitchen table is magical.
4. I faked a broken arm once and actually got a cast.
5. I put on a production of Sound of Music in my basement when I was 12 and played Maria and all the girl children. The play was cut short when I got into a shouting match with Rolf/my brother.
6. I still have both my grandmas.
7. I had my thyroid removed and then was told I had cancer by a 2nd year med student.
8. Every female member on my mother's side of the family has had breast cancer, except my mother.
9. I still have my hair from 3rd grade. I wish I could get the color back.
10. I am lucky because my cousins are also my friends.
11. I am also lucky because I met my best friends when I was 18 and so there's not much that will surprise them.
12. I only lost 6 basketball games in 8 years. Then I went to college and lost 6 games immediately. But roadtrips across Nebraska in a van made up for it.
13. I told my mother when I was about 10 years old that I would NEVER work a 9-5 job. Except for a few lapses, it has held true. Of course I didn't realize that it meant sometimes I would be working 8am to midnight jobs.
14. I always see celebrities. Real ones. It's a gift. Not many people can meet Isaac from the LoveBoat in Omaha and Dennis Quaid AND Meatloaf in Montana . . .
15. I miss my friend Lisa so much because she got parts of me no one else did. Plus we did an entire Terms of Endearment re-enactment that killed! She was my first real friend who died and I still cry a lot about it.
16. I hate onions but love French Onion Soup.
17. The scariest thing in the world is standing in front of a class of bored 19-20 year olds and pretending you know what you're talking about.
18. I have memories from when I was 2 years old.
19. I still miss L.A. I don't ever want to live there again. But I miss it. I know, but the place itself hardly ever makes sense either.
20. I first listened to Joni Mitchell's Blue in an empty bedroom that had just been painted white, all the windows were open, the sun was shining, and a breeze was blowing. I have been searching for that particular kind of peace ever since.
21. I still remember my junior high school class schedule. And where each room was in the building.
22. I HATE the metric system.
23. I have forsaken Starbucks for Tim Horton's.
24. I wrote a letter to Jimmy Carter protesting the 1980 Olympic boycott and he never responded. I think about that every time I see him on TV.
25. I met the love of my life because of Starsky and Hutch. Yeah, the TV show. Yeah, the one I wasn't allowed to watch when I was young because I had to go to bed at 8pm and it came on at 9pm. Now if I could just find that David Cassidy shirt . . .
