So I got tagged by my girl, [personal profile] callisto65, and I cannot deny her - she who has my back much in the way the Torino Twins work.

Post a list of your top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.

The problem comes in the selecting and the retagging. All my favorite writers have already been tagged, I'm sure. But here goes mine.

I have become a little bi-fictional of late - what with my new hot and heavy love of all things House and Hugh Laurie. But these SH ones are really all my favorites. So, in no particular order:

1. Rumination Cycle (http://shslash.kassidyrae.com/Rumination_Cycle.htm)

It started out as a drabble, written after I saw Brokeback Mountain, which stayed with me for days. Just the utter despair and the longing and a Hutch who is so beyond any kind of comfort . . . just the way I love him.

2. Court and Spark (http://shslash.kassidyrae.com/court_and_spark.htm)

Written in a hurry one weekend. Didn't even know I was writing a songfic. But just love the boys at the end of their rope and dragging them through to a resolution. Like in music, when Joni takes forever to scoop up into a note - the relief that comes is where I love to leave the boys.

3. Twisted Reality (http://starskyhutch.kassidyrae.com/twisted_reality.htm)

Had no idea I was swimming in treacherous waters when I wrote this one. Am probably most proud of this long thing - hard to keep all the boys in the air - Paul, David, Starsky, Hutch. Just loved the stories when Kirk beams down onto the set of the TV show. And I loved writing Hutch vs. David and then to try to get them all together in one room . . . so much fun!

4. Captain's Prerogative (http://starskyhutch.kassidyrae.com/CaptainsPrerogative.htm)

My attempt at a long case fic. And my twist is my most favorite. It started out as the need to write a Captain Dobey fic. And I just love to draw comparisons to his relationship with his partner Elmo Jackson with the boys. Think its a lot of the motivation behind how the man treats S and H. Plus, I have to admit when I decided who was going to be their new captain, I couldn't stop giggling and rubbing my hands together in glee.

5. Partnerhood (http://starskyhutch.kassidyrae.com/Partnerhood.htm)

I do like writing a story from someone else's POV and I always was partial to ol Bernie - the poor cop who just happened to see Hutch lurching down the street. This one and its companion Partnerhood Plus One( http://starskyhutch.kassidyrae.com/Partnerhoodx1.htm  takes place in that world I love - Post Fix. (okay I know thats really 6, but they kinda go together, right?!)

Ah God, I do love your choices! In this case, I think (as far as S&H stories, I mean), the ones you're most fond of happen to be among your best. (My favorites are Rumination Cycle and Court and Spark.) And I still have one of yours to read, yay:) - the one you posted up a few days ago.

And Nik already tagged me - HA!!!

I think Court and Spark is my fav.....it's songfic, but not in an annoying way because the song is actually being played as part of the plot, if that makes sense.... and the angst is absolutely lovely, of course!

I have to admit when I decided who was going to be their new captain, I couldn't stop giggling and rubbing my hands together in glee. Which is exactly what happens to anyone who reads it! I love all of these, cannot choose a fave. Except I can, actually, and I think it's this one. 'Captain's Prerogative'. Because of that delicious twist, the "Buckin' Bips", because of that poignant Dobey/Elmo story that threads through, and because it has such a episode-like feel to it. I love 'em both to bits in this.
