So it's finally done - my Starsky/Huggy fic.  I'm glad and sad - as one is when one has to leave the comforting world one creates for oneself in the middle of writing . . . (and yes, I know that's a nauseating use of some odd tense and pronoun thing-a-ma-jig)

I just have always held fast to the belief that Starsky and Huggy had history. Even after writing this, I'm not real sure what it is. This is just one idea. One tangent. One way down the bramble-filled path that is the fandom/canon history of these boys - all three of them.

(See, I just watched Dexter and that narration in that show does this to me - makes me want to have lyrical and literal word accompany all my actions in life . . . and especially when I'm typing . . .)

This was first started for LyricalSoul, who I miss like Vicodin. And it ended with Susan - cuz she finally succumbed to the love that is Starsky/Huggy . . .

It's lovingly hosted on Kass's site.

"A Beautiful Mess"
It's slash
It's S/H AND S/H
It's 4th season, which means anything goes . . .

*sigh* That was LOVELY. (And thank you for saying 'say my piece' rather than 'peace', that drives me nuts...)

All the bits of canon woven into the backroom fucks - fiery and emotional and I loved it. :)

Ah, to be missed so much!

As I said earlier this week (and I hope that was this week!) I really enjoyed this. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but blah blah, familycakes, blah, blah...

I miss you like Junket misses Wordsworth.

I loved Huggy talking about how Starsky was 'eye fucking' him. That was just so him. You really nailed him and his character great. In my head I always saw Hutch and Huggy, but this story made me a believer in Starsky and Huggy.

Great work!

thanks for reading and responding! Glad I could change your mind - although your story was . . . HOT, as I remember . . . where is that - might have to read it again . . .

I cannot believe how moved I am by this; that final scene in the bar between Starsky and Huggy just choked me up. Brilliant, bachgen, just ten thousand ways of brilliant.

Your Huggy, your Starsky and even the glimpses of Hutch here are note perfect. Love the dark push and pull of the relationships on show, so very real and convincing.

And of many, many superb lines and images, this :

If he had known all it would have taken was a few bullet holes and a flat line, he would have shot them himself a long time ago.

Poetry in motion, the whole bloody trio..*g*

You already know how much I love this. With all the fervour of a newly converted Starsky/Huggy fan. I've come a long way- that pairing was always a huge squick for me. But reading this, in all its stages, in all its glory, made me believe.

And I'm with Sheila, that last scene in the bar is so beautiful, it makes me heart hurt. Trying to make peace with their history, trying to find a way to go forward. It's a wonderful thing to read. Really. How you can switch fandoms and have each sound *so* right astounds me.

Love, love, love this. Someone recc'ed this to me after I watched "A Body Worth Guarding" for the first time and about fell out in the floor. I'd never really seen that dynamic between Hug/Starsk before and it was eye-opening.

Thanks!!
